Emmanuel Amuneke
Person
Emmanuel Amuneke (born 1970) is a retired Nigerian footballer and current coach. He was African Footballer of the Year in 1994 after helping Nigeria win the Africa Cup of Nations. Amuneke scored both goals in Nigeria's 1996 Olympic gold medal final victory. He played for Sporting CP, Barcelona, and other top clubs. After retirement, Amuneke coached Tanzania's national team and Nigeria's youth teams, winning the 2015 U-17 World Cup with the Golden Eaglets. His technical ability and leadership continue to impact Nigerian football.
