Finidi George (born 1971) is a retired Nigerian footballer who played as a winger. He was part of Ajax's legendary 1995 Champions League winning team under Louis van Gaal. Finidi was a key member of Nigeria's 1994 AFCON victory and played in two World Cups (1994, 1998). His pace, dribbling, and crossing ability made him one of Africa's finest wingers. Finidi won multiple league titles with Ajax and Real Betis. He's now a coach, continuing to contribute to Nigerian football development.

Finidi scored in Nigeria’s debut World Cup match against Bulgaria (1994) and helped the team reach the Round of 16. He secured three Eredivisie titles with Ajax and later starred for Real Betis, Mallorca, and Ipswich Town, earning a reputation for professionalism and team spirit.

COACHING JOURNEY:
After acquiring UEFA coaching badges, Finidi worked in youth development before taking charge of Enyimba FC. He guided the club to the 2023 Nigeria Premier Football League title, emphasising tactical discipline and fitness. In 2024 he was appointed head coach of the Super Eagles, tasked with blending home-based talent with Europe-based stars.

COMMUNITY AND MENTORSHIP:
Finidi’s foundation organises football clinics across the Niger Delta, providing boots, education grants, and mentorship. He advocates for better welfare for domestic-league players and supports environmental conservation projects in Rivers State.
