Pete Edochie

Pete Edochie (born 1947) is one of Africa's most respected actors, known for his powerful voice and commanding presence. He rose to fame playing Okonkwo in the NTA adaptation of Chinua Achebe's "Things Fall Apart" (1987). Edochie has starred in over 200 Nollywood films, often playing kings, elders, and authority figures. His proverb-laden dialogue and dignified performances have made him iconic. Before acting, Edochie worked as a radio broadcaster for 35 years. He has won numerous awards including African Movie Academy Awards and Lifetime Achievement recognitions. Edochie's contribution to Nollywood helped establish it as the world's second-largest film industry. His voice and presence remain unmatched in African cinema.
